VOLTA-2021

SEE HER BLOG for the latest info

She was originally powered by gasoline, then converted along the way to diesel, then her previous owner converted her to electric power in 2015/16--coincidentally a motor from the modern version of the same company that built her, the Electric Launch Company (Elco).

We have been her stewards since the beginning of 2017. Her traditional (lead acid) batteries were switched out for LiFePO in 2019. Her charging system was updated early 2021 for faster charging. Her range has improved to about 6 hours going about 5 knots average. We live on the water, so 6 hours makes for a lovely amount of time for an easy quiet cruise on the Chesapeake Bay.

Our entire home (including dock power) is powered by solar so saw no need to add panels to her just yet. Her classic appearance needs careful planning when adding to her aesthetic.
